David Brewster.

Sir David Brewster ( * 11 de diciembre de 1781 - 10 de febrero de 1868 ) fue un científico, naturalista escocés, inventor y escritor. Realiza investigaciones en el campo de la óptica (polarización de la luz, doble refracción, etc.). Inventó el caleidoscopio, y perfeccionó el estereoscopio. Sus investigaciones sobre la polarización de la luz le valieron la Medalla Copley en 1815.

  • Ley de Brewster - Física - Al incidir un rayo de luz sobre la superficie de separación de dos medios opticos, el rayo reflejado y el refractado sufren una polarización máxima cuando el ángulo de incidencia es tal que las direcciones de propagación de dichos rayos son perpendiculares.
